Mrs. DeGiacomo

Hi, my name is Mrs. DeGiacomo and I started teaching Child Development in 2000 at NHHS.  I am the Director of the North Haven High Nighthawks Laboratory Nursery School, which provides a service to the community while giving high school students the opportunity to work with children hands-on.

I am certified in Early Childhood Education (002), Remedial Reading Specialist (045), Family and Consumer Science (045) and Educational Leadership (092).

I teach:
-Discovering Children, which is a half-year class open to 9-12th graders.
- Child Development 1, which is a College Accredited Class open to 10-12th graders. Students earn three college credits.  This is a full year class.
-Child Development 2 is open for 11-12th graders who have successfully completed CD 1.  This class offers an additional three college credits.
-Independent Study in Child Development is open for seniors who have teacher's permission and have successfully completed CD 1 and 2.  This class offers an additional three college credits.

The Dual Enrollment Program is through Gateway Community College.  The college credits transfer to any college or university. There is no cost to the student or families to earn 9 college credits.

Be the change you want to see in the world.
