Welcome to 9th grade and 10th grade English! Thank you for visiting my page. I am excited to be your teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Freshman year involves constructing your foundation as a mindful reader and writer. The skills and strategies we practice together will prepare you for your high school academic journey. We will read a wide variety of texts and write daily to analyze the concept of journeys.
- Sophomore year involves the investigation of one of my favorite concepts in literature: the human condition. Together, we will read a wide variety of texts and write daily to explore this concept.
Please come to our class prepared and ready for success.
My goal is to provide you with an innovative learning experience that challenges you to engage with texts in new and meaningful ways. As we investigate the "journeys" or the "human condition," I will work hard to provide you with authentic opportunities to read, write, and collaboratively discuss with a clear purpose.
By the time you leave our classroom, I hope that you are able to identify and feel confident in your growth as a reader and writer, that you are ready to apply what you have learned to the world outside our classroom, and that you have learned something new about yourself along the way. I am excited to accompany you along this journey. Here's to a great year!
