Spanish III L3

Themes and units:

This year students will learn to talk about:

  • What they and others used to do as little children (vocabulary to talk about games and toys used with the imperfect tense)
  • What was happening when another action occurred (preterite with imperfect)
  • Traveling to Spanish-speaking countries (vocabulary to talk about transportation and travel and cultural perspectives in different countries)
  • Cooking in the culture (food, cooking, things in the kitchen, giving directions)
  • Movies that they have seen and Spanish/Latin American cinema

Spanish III L3 Grading:

For each quarter:

  • Projects / tests = 35%
  • Quizzes = 30%
  • Homework = 20%
  • Participation = 15%

Students earn participation grades based on active participation, paying attention in class, being on task, not distracting others from their work and keeping their phones put away during class.

Any missing assignments go into PowerSchool as zeros.  This includes when a student is absent. If a student is out on the day the work is due, they can turn it in when they return for full credit.  If they are out when it is assigned, they can come to me for the assignment and have a week to turn it in for full credit.

Late work without a good reason will have five points deducted per class from the grade that is earned.  Late assignments are not accepted after one week of the due date.  If necessary, students can talk to me ahead of the due date and request an extension which may be granted based on the circumstances.
